Crowne Plaza NEC – easy to find from the motorway roundabout, but with the usual expensive parking.
Bar is good, rooms are good the restaurant is always empty – you decide why – I haven’t eaten there – has anyone else?

Hilton Metropole at Birmingham Airport NEC – Very large hotel – a bit difficult to find the first time you visit as it is not visible from the road. Its based in its own grounds with lakes, trees and car parks.
The car parking is **expensive**.
The bar is always busy and there is a separate coffee franchise (Costa I think) – both are expensive. They know if you stay here you won’t be going anywhere else and so charge accordingly. If that’s a problem go elsewhere – there is much better value and choice in the city centre.
That said the hotel is comfortable, has a gym and a pool.
Get a better city centre hotel and the train from Birmingham New St is our advice.
