Holiday Inn Express (Summer Row) – central, clean, inexpensive no frills. Nice place to lay your head – eat at the Shakespeare next door!

The Shakespeare Pub (Summer Row) – am inexpensive bar with damned good food for the money – if you are in a hurry and hungry its good place. Try the belly of pork a lot nicer than it sounds and good quality English beer if you like it. Its also bang next to the Holiday Inn Express if you are staying there and looking for an alternative.

Hotel Du Vin – Church street – possibly the coolest bar in Birmingham – well they filmed “The Hustle” there how much cooler do you want? Some very choice (and expensive) drinks available – even the nibbles are good!
The rooms are expensive but rightly so – joint top of our favourite hotels in Birmingham with the Malmaison
